CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) is a form of divalent, unsaturated omega-6 fatty acid. Omega-6 fatty acids (and hence CLA) are essential fatty acids. This means that the human body cannot produce CLA linoleic acid itself, but needs it to function optimally.
